This workshop will be focusing on making a box using locally felled Oak. The oak is quarter-sawn and air dried and of the highest quality - the lobster of the shellfish world! Starting with a board of Oak you will learn a variety of techniques and use a number of different hand tools and machines to produce a finished item for you to take home and enjoy.
the joint of choice is a keyed mitre joint. delightful.
We are delighted to announce another session in a season of workshops brought to you by furniture ace Gareth Batowski. Gareth has been making furniture for over 15 years and is co-founder of On The Brink Studio. He has always had an interest in teaching woodwork and is excited to share his passion for English timber and pass on his skills in creative ways.
This event will take place at 6pm on Wednesday the 20th March 2024 and the workshop will include complimentary sour dough with as much tea and coffee as you can drink.
Previous woodworking experience is not necessary - We have designed this workshop to be inclusive of all abilities.
All materials and tools are provided.
Please wear relaxed clothing that you don’t mind getting a little messy.
Please arrive 15 minutes before to settle in and get a brew and have a look around.
